But eventually, expertise alone becomes limiting.
Your expertise may be what first made you credible.
It helped you earn trust, establish your business, and become known for work you do exceptionally well.
At some point, you look at everything you’ve become and everything you still want to explore and realize: my brand isn’t wrong, it just needs more room.
For some women, that means evolving the business they already have. For others, it means leaving one career for another, launching a new company or body of work, or becoming more visible in their own name.
And for some, the shift is quieter than that. There isn’t a dramatic pivot.
They’ve simply reached a point where the polished-but-safe brand they built years ago doesn’t feel like them anymore. It may communicate what they do, but it doesn’t carry much of their personality, perspective, conviction, or the fuller range of what they’re capable of.
That’s evolution, not confirmation that what you built before was wrong.
My work is about bringing together the many chapters of your life, work, gifts, talents, and ideas into one cohesive brand. One that carries forward what still matters from the chapters behind you while making room for the ones you haven’t written yet.
I work with leaders and founders like you who need a brand with enough depth to hold all of your chapters and layers.
We build brands spacious enough to honor where you’ve been, reflect who you’ve become, and make room for what you believe, what you’re capable of, and the work you may feel called to build next.
You have perspectives now that you didn’t have five or ten years ago. There may be gifts, interests, and parts of your personality that have never really had a place in your brand, even though they’ve always been part of you.
Maybe you’re ready to talk about ideas that go beyond the work you’ve traditionally been known for, step forward as more of a thought leader, or explore something you’ve wanted to build for years.
That experience taught me the power of aesthetics.
It also taught me their limitations.
My earliest creative work began in beauty and fashion, where I learned how much intention goes into shaping a brand’s image.
As a makeup artist and creative director, I worked alongside talented photographers, designers, models, and global brands, helping translate ideas into something people could immediately see, feel, and recognize.
My own career has moved between artist, strategist, designer, creative director, writer, teacher, and entrepreneur. For a long time, I believed clarity required choosing the most marketable part of myself and allowing everything else to remain in the background.
Eventually, I realized the problem wasn’t that people like us had become too multifaceted.
We had simply been taught to build our brands on foundations too small to hold all of who God knew we’d become.
You can create something beautiful, polished, and technically impressive and still fail to capture what is most significant about the person, vision, or body of work behind it.
Years later, when I began building brands and websites, I noticed this same problem in accomplished founders and leaders.
They had experience, credibility, high-caliber clients, and thoughtful bodies of work.
But many had reached a point where the brand they had built around one season of life could no longer hold the next one.
I understood that friction very well, because I had experienced it too.
That realization became the foundation of my Essence-First™ approach.
Instead of building primarily around a title, niche, offer, or current expertise, I help you uncover the deeper common thread beneath your work: the standards, convictions, and vision that remain distinctly yours even as the way you express them evolves.
Then we translate that foundation into a clear, cohesive brand and digital presence designed to grow with you.
It is to build a brand spacious enough to hold the full trajectory of your work—where you’ve been, who you are now, and what you are becoming next.
Barbara M. Littles had the experience, authority, and vision, but her brand was not fully communicating the depth of her work. We clarified her positioning and created a more cohesive presence that helped her attract aligned clients and step forward as a stronger leader in her industry.
Dr. Sarah Mac had built a successful company, but its identity had not yet caught up with its growth. We translated her vision into a clear brand foundation that aligned her team, increased her visibility, and supported the company’s highest quarter in services booked.
After years of building a respected advisory firm, this founder was ready to bring her personal authority, evolving ideas, and broader body of work to the forefront. We created an elevated personal brand and website designed to support consulting, speaking, thought leadership, and the next chapter of her influence.
Whether you're still defining what your next chapter requires, ready to build the brand and website behind it, or looking for a creative partner to help you steward what you've already built, there's a way to work together.
Studio Partner gives select clients ongoing access to creative direction and design as their work continues to evolve.
From new offers and ideas to campaigns, launches, opportunities, and platforms, I stay close to the brand so each new expression strengthens what we've built instead of slowly fragmenting it.
The Signature Brand Build is a complete, high-touch brand and website experience for established founders and leaders whose current presence no longer reflects who they’ve become or where their work is going next.
We build your Essence-First™ foundation, messaging, visual identity, photoshoot direction, website strategy, copy, and custom website as one cohesive brand system. This experience builds a brand that’s designed to support your next chapter, and the ones that follow.
Creative Strategy is for the established founder, leader, or professional at a decision point who needs clarity about what comes next before making another major brand decision.
In this private 90-minute session, we'll make sense of what is changing, clarify what your next pivot or evolution requires from your brand, and turn our conversation into a comprehensive Creative Strategy Brief you can confidently build from.
"Before working with Alexis, I had a business, but did not have a BRAND."
-Dr. Sarah Mac; Licensed Therapist, Speaker, & Mental Wellness Consultant
Working with Alexis helped me and my team refocus on our company vision, then translate it into a visual identity that authentically reflects who we are and the work we do.
After working with Alexis to build my personal brand, I secured 3 new speaking engagements, and my practice had its highest quarter EVER in services booked. I recommend her 10 out of 10!
