Personal Branding & Design for Established Founders

At some point, people begin to know you for more than the company you built. They’re interested in how you think, the perspective behind your decisions, and the experience that has shaped the way you lead and work.

You may have already felt that shift yourself, even if you don’t yet know exactly what to do with it. Your business still matters and still has significant work to do in the world, but it no longer feels like the only place your ideas, reputation, or future opportunities should live.

You want your legacy to have a wider impact and hold more of what matters to you, without pulling focus from the company that helped establish it.

This is where personal brand strategy becomes incredibly useful, because building more around yourself doesn’t require you to leave behind what you’ve already built.

An intentional personal brand gives the fuller scope of your legacy somewhere to take shape. It helps people understand what you bring to the world beyond your role in the company, what they can come to you for, and why they should continue paying attention as your work expands.

When it’s done well, you gain greater clarity around who you are, what your vision is now, and how to keep building toward it, whatever that may look like from here.

BUILDING BEYOND THE BUSINESS

"Before working with Alexis, I had a business, but did not have a BRAND."

-Dr. Sarah Mac; Licensed Therapist, Speaker,  & Mental Wellness Consultant

Working with Alexis helped me and my team refocus on our company vision, then translate it into a visual identity that authentically reflects who we are and the work we do.
After working with Alexis to build my personal brand, I secured 3 new speaking engagements, and my practice had its highest quarter EVER in services booked.  I recommend her 10 out of 10!

A strong personal brand should make more of your history useful, not ask you to leave it behind.

I came to that belief through my own career.

After spending years building a company, when you start seriously considering a personal brand, you’re not starting with a blank page. You have years of experience, relationships you’ve built over time, trained instincts, real convictions, and unique ways of seeing your work that could only have been developed by living it.

I don’t believe the answer is to strip all of that down until you can fit neatly inside a new niche or some more influencer-inspired version of yourself.

Instead, I believe the most meaningful work you can do to build a personal brand with lasting substance is to understand what has remained consistent underneath everything you’ve already built, then figure out how those pieces can come together in a way that makes sense for where you’re headed now.

I learned how to notice what makes someone distinctive, how identity gets translated through image and story, how perception is shaped by what people see, and how to give an idea a visual form that other people can recognize and connect with.

For more than a decade, that work has taken me from editorial and commercial creative work for brands and publications including GAP, Neiman Marcus, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and Vanity Fair to founding Lex Creative Studios in 2018 and helping established founders bring greater clarity and intention to how their work is understood.

Over time, that experience became the philosophy behind the way  I build brands now: identity before expression.

Before I became a brand strategist and designer, my work moved through professional makeup artistry, photography, creative direction, teaching, and writing.

For years, those chapters seemed disconnected from one another. Eventually, I began to see that they had been training many of the same muscles all along, and those are the very muscles doing the heavy lifting in my work today.

Learn More ABOUT ME

Rather than beginning with what seems most marketable, I start with what’s unshakeable. That’s the central idea behind my Essence-First™ approach, but the method itself is simple: you shouldn’t have to erase the person who built everything that came before in order to make room for who you’re becoming.

So if your company can no longer tell the whole story of your work, I’m not interested in helping you invent an entirely new one.

Need clarity before a full brand build?

Need ongoing creative support?

Strategy, messaging, brand identity, and website design, all in one cohesive build.

High-level entrepreneurs rarely struggle from a lack of strategy—they struggle from a lack of space. Space to slow down, integrate everything they’ve built, and discern where they are being led next.

Still Becoming is your private room for sense-making.
A few times a month, I share quiet, high-level reflections on identity, creative direction, executive leadership, and the decisions shaping the future of your work—written specifically for the woman of faith evolving her brand from a place of depth, not noise.

For the next season of your work, you don’t need a full reinvention.
You need space to connect the dots.

STILL BECOMING

Where you’re going doesn’t require you to leave everything behind. You just need a foundation strong enough to carry forward what you’ve built, reflect who you’ve become, and make room for what’s still unfolding.

You've built too much to start over now.
